How the grand dame of shooting games is making its return

From Eurogamer: "There are shooting games, and there are shooting games. Irem's 1987 R-Type can't exactly claim to be the first of its kind, and you could well argue there are more widely acclaimed shooting games, but you'd be hard pushed to find any as iconic as this stately sci-fi venture. Cold, composed and challenging, it's the archetypal 80s shooter, and a prime example of the genre in its pomp. The popularity of shooting games would wane throughout the 90s, however, and by the turn of the century those in charge of the series wondered whether it had a future at all. Which explains the brilliantly fatalistic air that hangs over R-Type Final, the 2004 entry that was imagined as a full-stop for the series."

The Final Fantasy XIV Community May Be The Best In Gaming

#zrodlo
Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) will be eight years old come this August, and the community cannot be any more active if they tried. With A Realm Reborn being the games initial starting point, it is easy to see why fans adored the game right out the gate, even with its uneven padding and dialogue-heavy fetch quests and cutscenes. A Realm Reborn does an exceptional job at setting the stakes and making you care about your character and job, as well as the plethora of characters you meet throughout your journey.

Horned Knight Review | TheXboxHub

Jacob writes: "Horned Knight is a strange one. Its a game that suffers from an extreme lack of variety, story and replayability. Its a game that becomes repetitive rather quickly. Its a game that does nothing to set itself apart from the hundreds of games of a similar nature that already exist on the market. And yet at the same time, its fundamentally solid from a pure gameplay perspective, with smooth, responsive controls and naturally difficult platforming sections that really test a players skill."

How Nacon Cracked and Pirated The Sinking City

#zrodlo
"The following video/blog post that we prepared shows how our former licensee NACON has cracked, hacked, changed our games code and content and illegally uploaded our game The Sinking City to Steam on February 26th 2021, in order to commercialize it under their own name without our knowledge. Some of you may have heard about our troubles in the past. This last action was the straw that broke our backs. Here is a step-by-step outline of how a French publisher stole, hacked, changed the source code, and tried to cover up the reporting trail.
